C4A Opposes Elimination of CRCs
February 13, 2012
The California Association of Area Agencies on Aging (C4A) is most troubled by the Governor’s proposal to eliminate the Caregiver Resource Center (CRC) program. CRCs are a critical component of the community-based network of long term services and supports, their elimination will have a devastating impact upon thousands of family caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias. The elimination of the CRCs would strike a further blow toward the dismantling of California’s system of home and community based care. C4A opposes the elimination of funding for CRCs and supports the program to remain as a vital part of the service delivery system.
